The 2022 Iowa State Fair runs 11 days, from Thursday, Aug. 11, through Sunday, Aug. 21. Des Moines Register staffers put together this daily guide to help you enjoy your time at the 2022 Iowa State Fair.

Here are our recommendations for Wednesday, Aug. 17.

The Iowa State Fair will offer its first sensory-friendly morning for those with autism, PTSD or sensory processing disorders. Since the noises and lights that the State Fair usually produces can be overstimulating for some, the morning of Aug. 17 will have features that might be helpful for those who cannot normally attend, including the introduction of a calming room, designated educational areas and mitigation of sounds and motions at places like Thrill Town and Thrill Ville.
