Kate Beckinsale is the most stylish cat lady out there so it only makes sense that she has the chicest cats, too. The 48-year-old Hollywood A-lister calls herself mum to three fur babies – two Persian cats named Clive and Willow and a Pomeranian dog named Myf. But for now, we’re shining a spotlight on Clive, the one who seems to be getting the most airtime on her Instagram.
Clive isn’t just a glamorous kitty but he has a heartwarming life story, too. Read the details below.
Beckinsale sat down with Entertainment Tonight host Kevin Frazier to chat about her movie Jolt in June 2021, and she posted a clip of the interview on her Instagram. When Frazier said, “Okay, can we talk about what’s really important?” the actress knew right away he meant the cat.
She had a lot of nice things to say about her feline baby. “He’s a cancer survivor, he had nine months of chemo,” she recalled. “I never thought he was going to make it. So the fact he’s become this minor cat celebrity, I’m down!”
The Guilty Party star mentioned all the things that make Clive a good little kitty. “He’s really down to wear costumes, he’s down to do a little dance, he’s down to do some boxing,” she said. “I guess everybody’s cat isn’t like that so people do like seeing him.”
Sure enough, Clive can be seen in the video sitting patiently and looking dapper in a coral bow tie and beige hat. At one point, his mum fixes his hat and gives him a kiss while shouting, “Who’s on TV?”
