Customers who have bought a particular breakfast favourite from Tesco have been urged not to eat it if they have a nut allergy and to return it for a full refund. A specific batch of its own brand frozen croissants has been recalled because there may have been a mix up with the contents.

Certain packets of Tesco's All Butter croissants may contain almond croissants and the presence of the nut will not be identified on the packaging. The supermarket giant has taken the affected batch out of its freezers, LiverpoolEcho reports.

Tesco said on a Facebook post: "We’re recalling one batch code of Tesco frozen All Butter Croissants x6 as they may contain Tesco frozen Almond Croissants. This means that almond won’t be declared on the packaging."

The affected batch details are: Tesco frozen All Butter Croissants x6 (255G). The batch code is LL 111. No other batches are said to be affected.

Anyone who has bought the item and has a nut allergy is advised to "please don’t eat it". The croissants can be returned to any Tesco supermarket for a full refund, even without a receipt.

Customers who have any further information are advised to call Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555. Product recalls and safety notices are made by traders about products that have problems which could affect the safety of the consumer.
