2022 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards Finalists Announced

114 toys will be a wish list this holiday season!

New York, November 8, 2021/PRNewswire/ - From creative construction toys and innovative collectibles to cute plush toys and adult toys, the 2022 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards finalists announced today will be the finalists this holiday season The preferred season. Known as the "Oscars" of the toy industry, the TOTY Awards program recognizes top toys on the market and is an important fundraising activity for the Toy Foundation, which provides the magic of games to millions of children in disadvantaged environments.

This morning, a group of children and family influencers announced 114 finalists. Families can now go to www.ToyAwards.org, vote for their favorite toys and games in each of the 16 categories, browse toys, and download holiday shopping lists. Voting will end on January 4, 2022, and each vote will be used as a ticket to the TOTY lottery, giving consumers the opportunity to take home the winning toys in each category!

This year's TOTY finalists were selected from 623 nominees in 16 different categories. Before the finalists were determined, 23 judges, including toy and game experts, retailers, academics, and journalists, reviewed and ranked the products according to the relevant categories in their respective fields of expertise. They considered the creativity, design and game value of each product.

The winners will be announced at the Toy Foundation’s TOTY Awards Gala on Friday, February 18, 2022. The celebration will include four industry pioneers being selected into the respected Toy Industry Hall of Fame, and will focus on the inspiring charity work of the toy industry and the Toy Foundation.

Action Figure of the Year A toy representing a character or a fictional character, designed to be used in a positive, imaginative and narrative-based game

The annual collectibles constitute a set of toys that can be collected multiple times; it can include novelty toys, miniature versions of existing product lines, authorized collectibles, etc.

Construction Toy of the Year A toy with construction as the main game mode

Creative Toys of the Year A toy that allows children to build and/or make their own unique items

Doll toys of the year, including babies, toddlers and fashion dolls

Game of the year is a game suitable for families and children (0-14 years old), including board, card, electronic or other physical game forms and puzzles, excluding video or app games

*New Year* Adult Toys are mainly toys and games developed for adults/children, including party games, board games, collectibles, arts and crafts, etc. These toys are usually promoted by fans, social media and adult humor, but they are neither "adult toys" nor sex toys

Baby/Toddler Toys of the Year are toys developed for 0-3 years old (0-18 months old infants/18 months-3 years old infants)
