Cat rescuer Nomer Adams, also known as "Cat Man", was taken aback at the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday.

Adams from Fayetteville, Georgia talked with DeGeneres about why he decided to dedicate his retirement life to saving cats trapped in trees. So far, he has saved nearly 1,000 cats. Animal friends.

The 71-year-old grandfather revealed how he used to travel for four and a half hours to rescue pets, and all this is free, just to have an impact on people's lives.

He talked about how it started, "When I retired, I started climbing trees, mainly because I was afraid of heights. One day, my tree climbing partner said,'Why don't you save the cat?'"

Adams told DeGeneres how he contacted the local fire department and told them to ask anyone who needed his help to rescue the cat to call him.

He shared, “I have completed more than 290 rescues this year” and said that he has rescued 948 cats since it started four years ago.

Since Adams does not charge for his services, DeGeneres has prepared many items for his cat, a check for $10,000, and an additional $5,000 that can be donated to any charity of his choice, which surprised him.
