The internet has been left in stitches by a dog named Dash, who has gone viral for continually distracting his owner while he was trying to work from home.

In a video shared on TikTok page dash_and_furrious, where the corgi's owner posts regular clips of him being funny, Dash can be seen throwing a bouncy toy at his owner, who is sitting quietly at his desk working from home, hitting or narrowly missing him about nine times in less than 10 minutes.

The clip, which has been viewed over 400,000 times since it was first posted on Monday, comes with a caption that reads: "Work from home they said. It will be fun they said."

A survey conducted by Petco in April found that 69 percent of "pet parents" were stressed about what going back to the office after working at home during the COVID pandemic meant for their pets.

Nearly half wanted their employers to adopt a pet-friendly workplace, and 41 percent said they would consider switching jobs if it meant they could bring their pet to work.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), about one in five American households acquired a cat or dog since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, accounting for approximately 23 million homes.

Most of these households still have the pet they adopted during lockdown—90 percent for dogs and 85 percent for cats—and are not considering rehoming them in the near future.

Commenting on the video, one user, Karivillanueva26, said: "he needs to [be] put into an NFL team obviously you not allowing him to be the best quarterback he can be."

Gremlin said: "I'm glad it's not just my corgi that has a high play drive." And Kristina added: "Imagine being on a zoom call and you randomly see him getting hit with a ball every 5 mins..like 'sir, you ok?"

Another user, Lavie, joked: "I think it's personal." And Ellen Lee added: "He really be aiming for you." While Lauren said: "He's trying to take out that monitor."

So Long USA wrote: "Pov...other person on zoom. I would have lost it laughing and wanted to see the floof."

When another user, Shannen asked, "Is this all in one day???" Dash's owner answered: "This is within 10min. Imagine what the entire day would be like."

Maria marulanda65 commented: "Bro he's aiming for your head."
