Corgi Eating Treat in Front of Dogs Behind Baby Gate Branded 'Evil'

Whether it's their basketball skills or Queen Elizabeth's influence (she's owned 30 over her lifetime), Corgis are one of the internet's most beloved breeds.

Which is why many of us are willing to overlook any jerk-like behavior, because who can be mad at those little faces?

And one Corgi has gone viral for taking his brutal bragging too far.

U/EssentialLillie shared a snap of her Corgi pup munching a treat in front of the other dogs at the office where his mom works, which Reddit described as "evil."

Posting to the r/AnimalsBeingJerks thread, EssentialLillie wrote: "He intentionally brought his chew to the gate so that he can eat it in front other dogs lmao."

In the photo, the Corgi can be seen nibbling on a chew behind a baby gate, while two other dogs look on in desperation.

In an update in the comments, EssentialLillie explained that although her employer allows staff to bring their dogs to work, her puppy is currently confined by a baby gate as they are not fully potty-trained.

She commented: "Earlier I gave him a chew, and he brought it to the baby gate to eat it in front of other dogs."

The post has received more than 10,000 upvotes and 85 comments from Redditors, who just couldn't believe the Corgi's audacity.

Feisty-frisco87 commented: "Oh? You two don't have a chew? That's so bad for you two."

While CirqueDuTsa joked: "So much tastier with an audience!" SixHundredLbsofSin described the scene as "big time Corgi energy."

"My Corgi's motto is "I don't want it, but you can't have it," they explained.

Fellow Corgi owners agreed, with TeddyRivers writing: "Corgi owner here. This seems about right. He's a lover and kind of a big jerk."

GAIAPrime added: "Corgi's are evil."

Corgis are one of America's most popular dog breeds. Between 2008 and 2018, Corgis rose from the country's 24th most-wanted breed to the 13th.

There are two types of Corgi—Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Originally bred to be herding dogs, Pembroke Welsh Corgis are known to be loud and energetic, whereas Cardigan Welsh Corgis are larger with long, fox-like tails.

As we all know, Corgis aren't the only breed capable of being jerks. Users shared stories of their own dogs showing off in front of animals.

AcademicCommittee955 commented: "My beagles do this to each other.

"They will also pretend there's something at the door and when the other one leaves their chewy to see what the fuss is about they will do the old okey doke and run back and steal it."

Fantoman shared: "My dog does this with the cat, as if the cat wants anything to do with her dog bone."

ChicPhreak said: "I have a mini dachshund girl who is like this, every time i give her a treat she immediately goes to see if her chihuahua brother also has one, if he doesn't she totally shows hers off in the jerkiest ways."
