A FORVER home is needed for Rupert the American bulldog.

Rupert is eight years old, but RSPCA staff have described him as a "puppy at heart."

Geraldine Haynes, Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire branch chair and dog rehoming coordinator, said: “We just love Rupert and really hope his perfect match is just around the corner.

“Rupert is so loving, and really has no concept of his size as he bounds over to greet you, jumping up to say hello and shower you with kisses.

“Though he is very strong, he does walk nicely on the lead and only pulls if something particularly excites him.

"He really enjoys his walks but little and often would be best for him as he does have some muscle wastage in his hind legs so he would struggle on lengthy walks, though as his muscle builds this should improve.

“He loves to play but is more than happy to entertain himself too - he will happily chase a ball a couple of times and then just flop down to chew and toss the ball around.”

RSPCA staff added: "Gentle giant Rupert is a big softie and he loves nothing more than a cuddle and a belly rub.

"If you can offer this gorgeous boy a loving home with a secure garden then please visit this website and complete a perfect match form which should be emailed to ned@rspcaworcester.org.uk.
